CCA’s Book Fair a Huge Success

Our second annual CCA book fair recently wrapped up, and it was a resounding success!

All credit goes to our wonderful CCA families who supported the book fair by purchasing books that are curated for their wholesome content by the I-55 Book Fair Company.

The CCA volunteer book fair team with Esther Hugueley, Pam Muschalek, and Lauren Walden in the lead, helped our librarian, Ms. Sonya Kendall, transform the gym into a pop-up book store filled with a wide assortment of books and novelties for all ages.

The outpouring of support from our families allows Ms. Sonya to use the proceeds from the book fair to buy new reading material for students. Last year after the book fair, students were so excited to check out books that were received from the book fair. CCA students in kindergarten through fifth grade have a weekly library class time, and older students have access to the library as well. We had several much-loved books that were literally falling apart. Due to the book fair, those books have been replaced with 125 books covering a wide variety of interests and reading levels. With the remaining book bonus earned from the book fair, Mrs. Sonya will be able to continue adding new reading material throughout the school year.

Having new books in the library for students to check out helps to foster a love of reading in our students; which is a key component of classical, Christian education - developing lifelong learners and readers. Thank you again, CCA family, and to quote Ms. Sonya, “The book fair has been a wonderful adventure with God’s blessing in evidence.”
