Christ Classical Academy Bible Centered

by Bob Dennison, Campus Pastor

As we recently closed out the Christmas season (should we ever really close it out?), let me take a moment to say how thankful we are for you. I hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons with family and friends and that God's blessings have been yours in abundance. If you remember, in my last article, I shared that I wanted to examine our core values at CCA together in this year's articles. In the last article, we looked at being "Biblically Centered," and I shared with you a link to the resources at the Bible Project. In this article I would like to consider the value of "Loving Truth".

CCA's publications and website remind us, “Education is, at its core, the pursuit of Truth and Wisdom. God is the Author of all Truth, and we seek to honor Him by loving truth in our education and in our personal lives as well." I do not think I could say it any better. Knowing the "truth" and how to apply it to our lives is at the core of what it means to mature in Christ. Our faculty seeks to find God's truth in everything we teach. Our athletics apply God's truths to how they compete. Our extracurricular activities seek to see Christ's impact on our world in every activity we do. Our Focus and chapel services examine truth and what it looks like in our lives. When truth is loved and embraced, we have the opportunity to see our students and families grow in grace and wisdom and to know they will impact and influence those around them.

Let me share a ministry link with you which I have found to be very helpful in knowing and applying the truth. The greatest value of Axis Resources, however, is not learning and applying truth, but rather in providing a proven approach to sharing that truth with younger generations—our students (your children). The Axis website offers a wealth of useful information. On their website you can find cutting edge productions which address issues students are facing in our modern culture from a biblical standpoint and an abundance of ideas for how to talk with your students about those issues. Go to axis.org, sign up for their weekly "Culture Translator" email, and browse the other tools they have. I think you will find them useful as well.

God bless you and yours. May the hope of the world, Jesus, provide you with great joy, love, and peace as you begin the new year!
